Teramind Agent, when installed, injects a customized HTTPS certificate called Quick Web Proxy that allows it to recode encrypted data so that it can monitor HTTPS sessions and other secure web activities such as webmail, IM chats etc. If this certificate isn't installed correctly, then monitoring for those items may not work properly.
Checking for Quick Web Proxy
You can check if the Quick Web Proxy is installed and working properly by doing the following:
Google Chrome
- Open a browser window and visit a secure site (one that begins with
https://
). - Click the small lock icon in front of the address bar. A pop-up menu will appear.
- Click the Certificate (Valid) option from the pop-up menu. This will open a pop-up window:
- It should say Issued by: Quick Web Proxy.
Microsoft Edge
- Open a browser window and visit a secure site (one that begins with
https://
). - Click the small lock icon in front of the address bar. A pop-up menu will appear.
- It should say Quick Web Proxy under the Website identification.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open a browser window and visit a secure site (one that begins with
https://
). - Right-click anywhere on the page and select View Page Info from the context menu. A pop-up window will appear:
- Click the Security tab. Under the Verified by: field you will see the Quick Web Proxy information.
Fixing Quick Web Proxy Issues due to IPv6

Enabling / Disabling the Quick Web Proxy

You can enable / disable the certificate from the Monitoring Settings:
- Click the Gear
icon near the top right corner of the dashboard and select Monitoring Settings from the pop-up menu.
- Click a monitoring profile you want to change or click the Default settings profile to change the monitoring settings for all users.
- Click the ADVANCED button near the top-right corner. A pop-up window will appear:
- Click the NETWORK DRIVER to enable / disable Quick Web Proxy.
