Installation Fails with Error: Cannot open because Apple cannot check it for malicious software
If you see this message, “Cannot open because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.” or a similar message, if means you are trying to run the Mac installer from the browser. You need to run it from the Mac Finder. To do so:
- Open the Mac Finder application and locate the installer file (for example:
- Right click the file and choose Open. The installer should run now.
Installation Fails with Error: App cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified
This is similar to the issue above but mostly encountered on the newer M1 Macs. Here's the workaround for this issue:
- Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
- Under the General tab, click the Open Anyway button.
Installation Fails with Error: Code 600
If you see this error code, please try a few more times to install the agent. It should solve the problem. It is usually a temporary issue.

Apple M1 Computers
Rosetta needs to be installed first for the Hidden Agent to work properly. You can use the following command to install it:
/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license
