Installation Fails with Error Message: ... Can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software

If you see a message similar to this when trying to install the Agent:

This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

Where <teramind-agent.pkg> is the name of the Teramind Agent package.

This error can occur when you try to run the Teramind installer from the browser. You need to run it from the Mac Finder. To do so:

  1. Open the Mac Finder application and locate the installer file (for example: teramind-agent-revealed-20191216-201.pkg).
  2. Right click the file and choose Open. The installer should run now.
