How to delete or restore an employee / computer

Removing an employee or computer from Teramind does not automatically delete their data. Check out this article to learn how to delete the data associated with a user or computer.

Removing or Restoring Employees / Users

You can remove or restore employees through the List of Employees screen. Removing employees helps free up licenses and keeps your employee dashboard organized by removing duplicates or outdated accounts:

1. Select EMPLOYEES from the main menu.

2. The default view will list only active employees, so please be sure to click the filter at the top and change the view to All to be able to see all employees.

3. Click the check mark(s) in front of the employee names to select employees to delete/restore.

4. From the top-left corner of the screen, select the action you want to perform:

  • Select Delete to delete the selected employee(s). Note that, when you delete an employee, they are not permanently deleted, just hidden from the employee list and all monitoring reports. Deleting an employee will immediately free up a license with no further action necessary.

  • Select Restore to restore previously deleted employee(s).

From this Action menu, you can also perform other employee related tasks such as: lock/unlock, enable/disable monitoring, and bulk edit multiple employees. Note that if you've used any external removal tools for Teramind agents, you may still need to manually remove the employee profiles from the dashboard to maintain a clean interface.

Removing or Restoring Computers

You can remove or restore computer through the Computers screen:

1. Select COMPUTERS from the main menu.

2. The default view will list only monitored computers, so please be sure to click the filter at the top and change the view to All to be able to see deleted computers.

3. Click the check mark(s) in front of the computer names to select computers to delete/restore.

4. From the top-left corner of the screen, select the action you want to perform:

  • Select Delete to delete the selected computer(s). Note that, when you delete a computer, they are not permanently deleted, just hidden from the computer list and all monitoring reports.

  • Restore: restores previously deleted computer(s).

From this Action menu, you can also perform other computer related tasks such as: enable/disable monitoring, enable/disable offline notifications, uninstall/update agents, etc.
