External storage isn’t mandatory for Teramind deployments. However, Teramind uses file storage for OCR screen recordings, and Microsoft Azure Blob Storage is an efficient, secure, scalable and redundant solution to store such data within Azure.

External storage is recommended for deployments of over 100 concurrent monitored users. |

If you already know how to create a Microsoft Azure Blob storage, you can skip this step. |
Adding the Azure Storage Resource
Do the following in sequence:
- From your Azure Portal, click All resources from the left-sidebar.
- Click the +Add button on top.
- From the list of options on the right side, click Storage.
- From the right panel, click the Storage account link.
You will be taken to the Create storage account page.
Launching the Storage Setup Wizard
Similar to the VM Setup Wizard we used in Step 1, the Storage Setup Wizard has several tabs on top. And like the VM wizard, we will keep most of the default settings as-is.
On the first tab, Basics, select the Resource group you want to use. In this example, we used test as our resource group. You can also click the Create new link under it to create a new group.
Give the storage a name on the Storage account name field. For example, myteramindstorage.
Click the Next: Advanced button.
Configuring the Advanced Options
- Make sure the Secure transfer required option is Enabled.
- Click the Next: Tags button.
Adding Tags to the Storage
Tags allow you to categorize resources for consolidated billings. For this tutorial’s purposes, we will not use any tags.
Click the Next: Review + create button.
Creating the Storage
Azure will run a validation check for all the settings and confirm with a Validation passed message unless it encounters any errors.
Review all your settings and click the Create button near the bottom of the page to start creating the storage.
It might take a while to create the storage.
Viewing Your Storage
Once Azure is done, it will show the Your deployment is complete message. You can see your newly created storage under on the RESOURCE list.
